I am a truck collector and my favorite scale is 1:64.
I collected many trucks from several manufacturers. I wanted detail and more detail. More detail than Winross, more than Ertl and even more than Diecast Promotions.
I spent years hunting the web and hounding the manufacturers to make more 1970s trucks.
Everywhere I turned I could find vintage trucks with very poor detail or only a tiny handful of vintage trucks with nice detail.
But even those with nice detail were so over produced I didn't see any value in them either.
To top it off the manufacturers just didn't seem to care about making detailed vintage trucks
That's when it hit me, to see more vintage trucks made, I was gonna have to make them myself.
So, in 2017 I decided to create a company, Advantage Diecast, LLC. I located a factory in China who made the very best detailed 1:43rd scale cars and asked to see if they could make 1:64th trucks for me.
Then I contacted General Motors about a license. That’s another story in itself, but finally I was granted a license to manufacture 1:64th scale models of the Chevy Heavies of the 70s.
Then I contacted the factory and provided them the information they needed to make the trucks I dreamed of. Several months later the prototypes arrived and I saw firsthand the mini Mighty Titan/90.
Back and forth with the factory for modifications and improvements for weeks till finally the approved finished models arrived.
The wait was worth it. The 1:64th Chevrolet Titan/90 model raised the bar on detail 3 rungs above the competition and looks fabulous on a shelf, in a diorama, or hooked to a vintage trailer.
